T&D Piling Capabilities
DFI has the capability of providing steel piling for the following transmission and distribution applications.
Transmission Towers – To accommodate high lateral loads, we can install battered (angled) piles. In addition, we pride ourselves on the ability to install an industry leading uninterrupted pile length of 23 metres, avoiding costly splicing or bolt-together connections. Finally, our interchangeable attachments allow us to alternate between helical and driven pile applications, reducing mobilization costs.
Substations – Our proprietary line of purpose built in-house RGZ cranes can reach over existing infrastructure, which allows better access from one position and decreases the need for mobilization. Again, our interchangeable attachments allow us to alternate between helical and driven pile applications, further reducing mobilization costs.
Distribution Lines – We have the ability to install bucket piles (barrel size up to 152.4cm OD) for helical piling applications. If overhead restrictions exist we can install piles in sections. Cost savings will be realized as the helix can be shipped inside the barrel.
Circuit Breakers – We also provide sheet piling for containment pits.
